Some say the Super Nintendo was the best system ever made. While it may not have been
THE best ever as far as the actual hardware goes, it had a very, very impressive library of games. And since it came out before the advent of 3D graphics, which led to a deluge of "pretty" games (pretty graphics and pretty boring), the main focus on these games was still gameplay. Yeah, it had fancy things like Mode 7, the SuperFX chip, and the SA-1, but gameplay still came first, most of the time. As with any great system, the flood of bad games eventually came along (did anybody actually
buy Rise of the Robots?), but luckily the good ones far outweighed the bad ones. If you can't seem to decide on a game for this system, you usually can't go wrong if you pick a game developed by Nintendo, Konami, or RARE.
Emulator of choice: bsnes for Windows. In just a short time, it has currently overtaken the other emulators out there in regards to compatibility and completeness.
You may also want to try ZSNES or Snes9x, the latter of which has been ported to many systems other than Windows.
