  • 0.81u8: Brian Troha added 'Speed For 100M Dash' dipswitch (10 or 14 beats for max. speed).
  • 0.74u2: Added clone Gold Medalist (bootleg).
  • 0.61: Added new cpu2 roms (full sound now). Added 'Watch Computer Play' dipswitch.
  • 17th April 2002: Angelo Salese adjusted the sound volume balance in Gold Medalist and Tehkan World Cup.
  • 0.59: Acho A. Tang fixed Super Stingray and Kyros, and most problems in Gold Medalist. Fixed gameplay, control and priority, corrected DIP settings. Changed Z80 CPU2 clock speed to 8MHz. Marked cpu2 rom as BAD.
  • 0.36b1: Bryan McPhail added Gold Medalist (SNK 1988) (not working) and clone (bootleg) (Testdriver). Gold Medalist (bootleg) has a 68705 in place of the Alpha controller.
  • 6th June 1999: Bryan McPhail has gotten a nice new shiny computer science degree, and for a nice celebration he almost finished some drivers. Here are some pics of Gang Wars, Gold Medalist, Sky Adventure, Sky Soldiers and Time Soldiers, but don't expect to see these before 0.36b1.

history Gold Medalist (c) 09/1988 SNK.

Based on the Seoul Olympics, this is a multi-event track and field game for up to four players and featuring nine different events. Despite being heavily influenced by Konami's own "Track and Field" series, Gold Medalist lacks both the addictiveness and tight gameplay mechanics of the games upon which it is based. The nine disciplines, which can be attempted in any order, are :

* 100 Metre Sprint

* Long Jump

* Horizontal Bars

* Freestlye Swimming

* Boxing

* Discus

* 110m Hurdles

* High Jump

* 400m Relay
