Bugs:
  • In 0.119, there are two rows of garbage blocks at the top of the screen in the 2nd firing range stage. All clones are affected. Except for combascb, which now doesn't even display sprites... Worked fine in 0.118 (also combascb ). verified. combasc0119gre izius
  • All games except bootleg: When beginning or ending an excercise, most of the time the last characters of the text "Player 1 (Nick)" or "CPU (Joe)" disappear. combasc0102u1gre RansAckeR
  • Wrong color lookup table to get correct target colors. Source (ID 02285)
  • Trackball work is not completely understood. Source (ID 02288)
  • YM2203 pitch is wrong. Fixing it screws up the tempo. Source (ID 02289)
  • Clone combascb: Wrong sprite/char priority. Source (ID 02286)
  • Clone combascb: since 0.79 this game have some graphic bugs, on the "players" screen, and some scrolling (?) problems on 1st stage. combascb093u2gre qapo
  • Clone combascb: Crashes on level 3 and experiences various graphics glitches: on the 'game over' screen after playing a game, on level 3 before the game crashes, and at various places in attract mode after watching for a few cycles. On level 3 the screen became covered with "A"s, and I was repeatedly told to fire some weapon I didn't have. The screen cleared up, I played level 4, wrapped the counter around the fourth row of hits several times, then unthrottled it and watched the level not end (see snapshots). Snapshots from MAME .61: 1st snap is the intro garbage (some, there are more). 2nd snap is when things start to go wrong on level 3, strange enough for me aren't A's, they are N's. But for me the screen didn't clear up and rolled for next problems. In my case the game showed what's on 3rd snap and stopped. I'd have to rerun it but I think not even reset worked, had to get out of the game. verified combascb36finalyel Jeff B / TriggerFin / Pi

history Combat School (c) 05/1987 Konami.

A one or two player multi-event combat game, similar in gameplay style to Konami's "Track and Field" series.

* In the obstacle course, you must repeatedly press the fire button to run as fast as possible. Press the jump button in order to clear or mount hurdles of various hights. Complete the course within a specific ammount of time to continue the game.

* In the Iron Man race, the controls are the same but you will jump puddles and boulders and swim across a stream.

* In the firing ranges, aim with the joystick or trackball and shoot using the fire button. There will be various firing range sessions beginning with stationary targets, preceeding to moving targets, and finishing with having to avoid hitting the targets that represent comrades. The comrade targets resemble your drill instructor but you must still avoid hitting them (the wrong targets and the drill instructors) as it will cost you the game. The activities get progressively more difficult as you proceed.
