| information | 0.58 [David Haywood, Stephane Humbert] TODO: - Attribute bits on bg tiles - what are they for? - Is scrolling / bg placement 100% correct? NOTES: - Driver by David Haywood, dipswitches and Inputs by Stephane Humbert. - Mug Smashers is a side scrolling beat-em-up, borrows ideas from Combatribes, including the music (apparently) and sound hardware! There is also a Spanish company logo in the graphic roms. A 1990 copyright can be found in the sound program so its 1990 at the earliest. - The DSW ports are a bit odd, from reading the test mode it appears the board has 2 physical dipswitches, however these are mapped over multiple real addresses, obviously this gives us two ways of dealing with them, USE_FAKE_INPUT_PORTS is used at compile time to give an option of which behavior we use. WIP: - 0.58: Added mugsmash.c driver and vidhrdwmugsmash.c. |
| mugsmash | Mug Smashers[Dec/12/99] Mug Smashers (c) Electronic Devices / 3D Games Final Fight style beat-em-up. Not sure what type roms 1 and 2 are, I read them as 27c040's so they might not be right or may contain duplicated data. The game runs without these 2 roms anyway, I think they're just sound samples (Ughs and Args etc) Rom 3 has some text in it relating to Technos and the OKI sound chip used, it has a (c) 1990 message. I'm told the music is the same as used in the Technos game "The Combatribes". Roms 4 and 5 I think contain the program data Roms 6 to 15 are the gfx (I think :-) These were all SGS 27c4001's Main CPU is a 68000 at 12MHz Sound CPU is a Z80, not sure what speed. - |
