NOTES:

- Driver by R. Belmont and Phil Stroffolino.

- ESC protection emulation and TMS57002 skipper by Olivier Galibert

- Hardware: The basic hardware consists of: MC68EC020 main CPU at 24 MHz and a MC68000 sound CPU with 2x K054539 PCM chips plus a TMS57002 DASP for effects.

WIP:

- 0.125u7: GX era hardware [Yasuhiro Ogawa]: Update video parameters to use actual values written to the CCU. Changed VSync to 59.185606.

- 0.125u6: KonamiGX frequency tweaks [Yasuhiro Ogawa]: Set screen refresh rate to 58Hz (parameters from developer manual are not 100% correct). Removed sound CPU clock hack. Changed 68000 CPU2 clock speed to 8MHz.

- 0.125u4: Aaron Giles fixed crasher due to some Konami games using 8 layers in the K056832 implementation, even though it was only written for 4.

- 0.123u1: Zsolt Vasvari removed color tables from KonamiGX. Added resnet.c color computations where appropriate.

- 0.117u3: Alex Jackson fixed running the KonamiGX BIOS on its own do what it should: Display a scrolling marquee telling the operator to attach a ROM board.

- 0.111u4: Minor cleanup of mind-bending codec in the KonamiGX driver [R. Belmont].

- 0.107u3: Minor cleanup and speed hack removal in the konamigx.c [R. Belmont].

- 0.95u3: smf hooked up KonamiGX driver to use machineadc083x.c.

- 0.94u1: R. Belmont started cleaning up KonamiGX driver. Intel Flash improvements [smf].

- 0.93u1: R. Belmont fixed a KonamiGX crash.

- 0.82u2: PreGX cleanups [R. Belmont].

- 0.82: R. Belmont improved Konami GX (vidhrdwkonamigx.c).

- 14th April 2004: R. Belmont - Got something closer to realistic tilemaps for the roz layers in Type 1 konamigx games, but "closer" is extremely relative in this case.

- 0.81u5: Konami GX Cleanups [R. Belmont]: Removed Acho's fake dipswitches to avoid confusing real PCB owners. Unified and cleaned up memory maps to latest specs. Some more protection emulation for rushhero (the spritelist is now copied to the right place), but no visible results. Removed unused routines to stop warnings on GCC 3.3+. Fixed the PSAC tile decode for type 3 and type 4 games and fixed the PSAC tilemap flipx/y flags for type 3. Removed 'Background Detail' and 'Character Detail' dipswitches.

- 11th April 2004: R. Belmont sent in some cleanups to the Konami System GX driver.

- 0.74u1: R. Belmont improved the type 1 KonamiGX games a bit but none are working well enough to enable yet.

- 0.73: Some System GX Improvements, mainly to the not yet working games [R. Belmont].

- 2nd September 2003: R. Belmont sent in an update to the Konami System GX driver, adding Racin' Force and Konami's Open Golf Championship / Golfing Greats 2 (playable but the ROZ graphics layer is missing) and various other games that are not working due to unemulated protection.

- 0.71u2: R. Belmont cleaned up some Konami GX rom loading.

- 11th July 2003: R. Belmont cleaned up the Konami GX type 3 and 4 ROM loading.

- 0.70: Konami GX sound improvements [R. Belmont].

- 6th June 2003: Acho A. Tang fixed some minor graphics glitches in the Konami GX driver and cleaned up the KonamiIC emulation.

- 0.68: Various Konami related fixes and improvements [Acho A. Tang, R. Belmont]. Changed gfx1/2 roms to flags 0x80 in all games.

- 12th May 2003: Acho A. Tang improved the Mystic Warriors and Konami GX drivers again, fixing graphics priorities, shadows and blending in various games.

- 5th May 2003: Acho A. Tang sent in some minor updates to the Konami GX driver, fixing a few newly introduced bugs.

- 4th May 2003: Acho A. Tang submitted a major improvement to the Konami GX driver, improving the graphics emulation and emulating the ESC protection in Salamander 2, Dragoon Might and Tokimeki Memorial Puzzle-dama, making them all playable.

- 22nd April 2003: Acho A. Tang converted the Mystic Warriors and Konami GX drivers to different drawing routines that will allow more improvements later on.

- 0.67: Added konamigx.c driver, machinekonamigx.c and vidhrdwkonamigx.c.

- 5th April 2003: R. Belmont fixed the background color methods in the Konami GX driver.

- 30th March 2003: R. Belmont enabled the shadows in Konami System GX driver and tilemap alpha blending in the Mystic Warriors driver. David Haywood fixed flickering sprites in Metamorphic Force, graphics layer offsets in several games in both the Mystic Warriors and Konami System GX drivers. Acho A. Tang added the infrastructure support for 3 independent colored shadows/highlights as required by the Konami games, and he cracked the protection in Violent Storm. The improvements also allow Twinbee Yahhoo to be fully playable now.

- 25th March 2003: Acho A. Tang added support for 32bpp shadows and highlights in the core, improving the quality of some graphical effects in Mystic Warriors.

- 23rd March 2003: Acho A. Tang further improved the sprite/tilemap priorities in Kyukyoku Sentai Dadandarn and Gaiapolis, fixed the missing background layers, visible area and alignment in Kyukyoku Sentai Dadandarn. R. Belmont fixed the dipswitches in all the working games in the recent Konami driver and started fixing the internal ROM tests.

- 21st March 2003: Acho A. Tang fixed various graphics glitches in Mystic Warriors, Kyukyoku Sentai Dadandarn, Metamorphic Force and Gaiapolis. R. Belmont improved the graphics in the aforementioned drivers.

- 17th March 2003: R. Belmont added the rotation and zoom graphics layer emulation to Gaiapolis and Kyukyoku Sentai Dadandarn thanks to Olivier Galibert. Nicola Salmoria also improved the ROZ layer emulation in them.

- 16th March 2003: R. Belmont fixed the intro screen graphics glitches in Sexy Parodius and Gokujou Parodius.

- 11th March 2003: R. Belmont sent in a Konami System GX driver supporting Lethal Enforcers 2, Gokujou Parodius, Taisen Puzzle-Dama, Sexy Parodius, Daisu-Kiss and Taisen Tokkae-Dama.

- 10th March 2002: R. Belmont reported some more progress with the Konami GX system driver. Alpha blending is working fine and the priorities are sorted out.

- 17th August 2001: R. Belmont sent in some pictures of a work-in-progress Konami System GX driver. The sound is fully emulated but there are some graphics problems in the 3 games that are working (Gokujou Parodius, Twinbee Yahoo! and Sexy Parodius) and the rest of the games suffer from unemulated protection.

Note: Some ROMs contain identical halves, but I leave them as is for now. (they all appear to be 16M)
In any case, it's a simple matter to chop them in half if they are found to be 8M ROMs at a later date.
