| information | 0.36b1 [Bryan McPhail] NOTES: - All II & V games are 68000, z80 plus a custom Alpha microcontroller, the microcontroller is able to write to anywhere within main memory. - Gold Medalist (bootleg) has a 68705 in place of the Alpha controller. - V boards have more memory and double the amount of colours as II boards. - Time Soldiers - make the ROM writable and the game will enter a 'debug' kind of mode, probably from the development system used. - Time Soldiers - Title screen is corrupt when set to 'Japanese language', the real board does this too! (Battlefield is corrupt when set to English too). - The Next Space is not an Alpha game, but the video hardware is identical to Paddlemania. WIP: - 0.123u2: RansAckeR simplified some control definitions in the alpha68k.c driver. - 0.122u8: Zsolt Vasvari removed colortables from alpha68k and a number of other drivers, as part of a larger move to phase out old-style colortables. - 0.109u4: Robiza improved video banking in the alpha68k games. - 19th June 2002: Stephane Humbert fixed the inputs and dipswitch settings in the alpha68k driver. - 6th June 2002: Acho A. Tang cleaned up the alpha68k driver and fixed the colors in The Next Space. - 18th March 2002: Acho A. Tang submitted a massive update for the Alpha68k driver, fixing a few graphics problems in Sky Adventure and Time Soldiers, and making Paddle Mania, Super Stingray and Kyros playable. - 10th September 2000: Bryan McPhail added the original Sky Adventure romset to the Alpha68k driver, and he sent a driver for Pushman. - 26th April 2000: Bryan McPhail sent in a big Alpha68k driver update, with support for Kyros, Super Champion Baseball, Super Stingray, the original version of Gang Wars and two new sets of Time Soldiers. - 18th April 2000: Phil Stroffolino fixed Kyros' graphics decoding. - 0.36b1: Added alpha68k.c driver and vidhrdwalpha68k.c. - 17th July 1999: Bryan McPhail sent in drivers for Time Soldiers, Sky Soldiers, Sky Adventure and Gang Wars. |
