Introduction

The NES or Famicom was another one the consoles that I never had as I was more into Sinclair's ZX81 and Spectrum... oh! and my Texas Instruments TI99/4a.

It was one of the biggest selling consoles of the eighties and most TV and films from then showed kids playing "Nintendo".

There was also an arcade version of the NES called the VS system which is emulated in RocknesX and also Mame as well.

RocknesX is one of the most compatible NES emulators around and although it doesn't emulate alot of the hardware other emulators do, what it does do it does well.

Installing RocknesX

To install RocknesX you will need a copy of Winzip. All you have to do is to open the zipfile, press the extract button and type C:\RocknesX into to the path area of the window that opens.

If you download RocknesX folders then extract them into the same folder as RocknesX. It should look something like this...

Installing Games

Because RocknesX is a console emulator there aren't many sites around holding roms for it. You could try a search engine like Google with the keywords NES Roms or Nintendo Famicom Roms.

All you need to do to install roms is to put the zipped files into the C:\RocknesX\Roms directory. If you are not sure how to do this use the basics tutorial.
