A Milestone!

Yes easyEmu has got it's milionth hit. Not bad for four years. I would like to thank everyone for their support and positive feedback for my site and I am glad it helps so many. I'm glad to be a part of the emulation community and I will make sure that easyEmu will always explain the communities technobabble in something resembling English for as long as I can.

But what have I done to celebrate this fact? Well how about a fully featured guide for Vice, the Commodore 8bit computer emulator. I know alot of people have been waiting for this as I've had loads of requests. Well guys here it is!

I class the Vice guide as a work in progress as there is a hell of a lot of documentation an options to process. I have covered a majority of it including the menus and a bit on how to run stuff and once my brain stops hurting from going back and forth through it's UNIX based documentaion i'll carry on and finish it.

It works the same as the Mame guide etc ... so it has it's own index page accessed by the button in the menu or if you want to link directly to it use this link http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/viceguide/viceindex.htm .

As usual feedback is always welcome (constructive that is!)

I've also explained the new -screen setting in the Mame Win32 Setup page for all you guys with multiple monitors ;)

My next update will probably be the Mess guide and I'll probably compile up a Mame and Mess downloadable help file too.

Just a quicky

Just a quick update to the Mame guide's controller ini page for the XML stuff. Thanks to uRebelScum and Minwah for the feedback and suggestions. Oh and I've updated the link for Guceks Mess snapshots page in the Mess guide.

That's all for now.

As promised here is the first of a series of updates.

As always the first update goes to the Mame guide which was in need of a bit of work. Mostly I've made the pages up to date with Mame 0.90 and above but there is also a very important addition. This addition is a section in the controller ini page dealing with the new XML based config files. This is a very preliminary stab at explaining them as... a. I'm not great at XML & b. There isn't any documentation on it .

Hopefully some of the MameDevs will give me some feedback and correct any mistakes I've made.

The next update will be probably something about easyEmu's MILLIONTH hit and very soon after that more new stuff.

Happy Xmas!

I guess that I've been slacking a little lately. My motivation to run this site never really recovered from when my friend died. However after changing jobs again and meeting several guy who were into retrogaming, talking to them and finding out that easyEmu really helped them it re-kindled my interest in getting easyEmu back up to scratch.

I also had a big hard disk crash in the summer and lost everything (including ALL my emulation roms) which has meant I've needed to re-populate the collection. But I'm now nearly there (only 13 more Mame roms to go) which means I have no excuses left not to update the site.

I've also got some new pc hardware over the summer which is making retrogaming an absolute treat. I've now got 3 computers, an Athlon64 3ghz, and AthlonXP 3ghz and for xmas a P4 laptop which I am using to update the site (oh and my trusty Amiga 1200 just for Pinball Fantasies).

There is nothing new at the moment, just a bit of a reshuffle but expect the following...

1. Updated Mame Guide (Including Downloadable!)
2. Updated Rocknes Guide.
3. Updated Zinc Guide.
4. Updated ZSnes Guide.
5. Updated MESS Guide.
6. Updated Raine Guide.
7. Updated CLRMame Guide.
8. Updated Visual Boy Guide.
9. New Kega Fusion Guide. (Genesis/Master System/Game Gear)
10. New Caprice Guide (Amstrad CPC)
11. New WinVice Guide (Commodore 64)
12. New EmuZWin Guide (Sinclair Spectrum)
13. New ScummVM Guide (Graphic Adventure Emulator)
14. New Nebula M2 Guide (Sega Arcade)

All these updates may take a while as I've not done a thing yet but I promise I'll start now.

Have fun

OMG! It's Been That Long!

I'm not gonna bore you with the details but I'm back! Happy Xmas, Easter etc...

Whats New!

1. The Mame Guide is now up to date with the latest version 0.81. I've been through each page and tweaked and revamped it and made them a bit quicker to load.

2. You can now DOWNLOAD! the MAME Guide in a standalone Help File! WOW!!!! This will only work on Windows systems though. Click the download button on the MAME Guide index to get the file.

That's it for now but more updates and downloads will definately happen soon!

Half A Million Visitors and I've left a Mess!

Hello all!

I've had a major change in my life recently. I got made redundant from my job on the 31st of August :( However I start my new job on the 8th of September which has better hours and more money :) WooHoo!! So I thought to myself that because of the half mill' milestone and more reddies I'd do an update.

The first thing is another major emulator is getting the easyEmu treatment. This time it's the fantastic computer and console emulator MESS. As you can see from the new menus Mess is getting the same level of detail done to it as Mame and WinUAE.

There are also the usual updates to the other tutorials too.

A quick note to anyone wanting to link to easyEmu. Please try and link to the main page if your link is for general emulation. For Mame, MESS and WinUAE you can use these dedicated index pages.

Mame - mameindex.htm
MESS - messindex.htm
WinUAE - uaeindex.htm

There will be more tutorials coming soon.

CU :)
