Introduction

Callus was one of the first arcade emulators that I got into. The main reason was the fact that it ran Ghouls and Ghosts and I have always loved this game from my old Spectrum and Amiga days.

The emulator only runs Capcom games and is therefore very fast. There are 85 supported games in Callus including all 17 variants of Streetfighter 2 including the zero and alpha versions.

This is another emulator like Raine that has been discontinued and then pick up by another set of developers. I have been given the URL for Bloodlust the original authors, just click the link. (thanks to lustmord for the info). The last official release was on the 24th June 1998 however the version I have uploaded should be in continual update.

Have fun as Callus is a great emulating accomplishment. The only quirk you will notice is the vertical scrolling games such as 1941 go horizontally????? but who cares when you can pulverize Vega at 60 frames per second!

Downloading Callus

You can find the latest version of Callus here. I have amended the file on easyEmu to include all the necessary subdirectories and a matching callus.ini file.

Installing Callus

To install Callus you will need a copy of Winzip. All you have to do is right click over the cls95p24.zip file, select "Extract To..." and type C:\Callus into to the path area of the window that opens.

If you have downloaded Callus from easyEmu then when you extract the archive it will automatically set up all the necessary directories. I have also configured Callus to look in the correct directories for roms etc. Here is what the directory structure looks like...

Images - Stores Game Snapshots

Log - Stores sound CPU logs.

Roms - Where the zipped roms go.

Saves - Where callus stores its saved states

A good idea is to create a shortcut on your desktop by simply right clicking over the Callus icon and selecting Send To and then desktop in the menu that appears.

Installing Games

All the roms in Callus match the Mame versions.

To install the games you will need to place the zipped roms into the C:\Callus\Roms directory. If you are unsure on how to do this then try the basics tutorial.
