COnsole MAme

Welcome to COMA, the console orientated version of MAME. Coma is a console orientated build of the wonderful MAME code. I suppose the goal is to document console systems, including carts etc. or something like that :) It currently supports the ColecoVision and NeoGeo consoles.

More Information

There are no docs - sorry, I hate writing them. If you can use MAME, you should be able to figure this out.

  • MAME (Be familiar with this first)
  • MESS (Coleco code in this also)
  • MAMEWorld (Great site for MAME help)

    Here are some hints (since there is no FAQ yet)
    (1) The Neogeo console roms are the same as the MAME sets.
    (2) Coleco carts are derived from GoodCol, so use it
    (3) If you zip all your coleco carts and bios into coleco.zip, Coma will find them by CRC (no need to rename them)
    (4) All MAME frontends should work (Coma can be thought of as a new set of drivers)
    (5) Have fun - its free ;)

    Why? This code has been on my machine for months, as it was originally developed to fix the MESS coleco driver. I hope someone else finds it useful
