NEWS FLASH! Tehkan World Cup has fallen! It's now in 3rd place behind Battle Zone and Robotron.

Ratings update to include MAME .66 games. In a shocking development, Battle Zone has leap-frogged Robotron to capture 2nd place overall in the Top 100 Games by rating (but suspiciously, Tehkan World Cup is still in 1st).

Here you will find some lists I have made of the "top" arcade games. These lists are based solely on the ratings and votes from mame.dk, so this is not just my idea of what the best games are, but rather the ideas of the thousands who have voted at that site.

I encourage everyone to visit mame.dk and vote on every game you remember playing. The more votes each game receives, the more accurate the results will be. It all depends on you, so get your browser over there already!

NOTE: Even though I did not just "make up" these rankings, they are slightly edited. In general, for a rating to qualify the game has to receive at least 30 votes at mame.dk (I know this is arbitrary, but I had to draw the line somewhere). Also, a game with a rating of less than 50.0 does not make it on a "best" list, so some categories or years may have fewer games listed than others. On the other hand, if a category or year has many good games, which I define as 70.0 or better, it may have more games listed than others.
